Flash Fiction: The Library

The library was where she first saw him. She was bored and had taken to swinging up and down over the edge of the table where her schoolbooks lay unopened and unread. Back and forth, up and down, thinking of everything and nothing at the same time, staring down the hall. Then someone blocked her view. She stopped and focused on his deep green eyes hidden behind thick-rimmed glasses, the wrinkles in the corners of his mouth as he laughed at her. Her heart skipped a beat and something inside whispered that he would change her life.
